King Kong

Raj Subramanian -" Peter Jackson the Tourism NZ Ambassador"
Exclusive to www.thenewzealander.com
How many  Oscars this time?  How many billions?

Peter Jackson is bringing proud moments to New Zealand again. The 17 Oscars and $3 billion - Trilogy is short lived for record breaking.  Its own record setter NZ Peter Jackson has set on another challenge to his earlier achievements. Hollywood history is shaken by Peter Jackson's continuous  success after success.  In King Kong  3 hour spell-bound audience watch the ambitions to remake "King Kong" since Peter was 13,the 1933 original, with the luminous Fay Wray, The new version did some major surgery as well as facelift plastic surgery. When in 2003 Universal Pictures' Stacey Snider offered Jackson, Walsh and Boyens an advance of $20 million  to write, direct and produce this film he gleefully accepted.

His remake of this King Kong takes place in the '30s and is being shot in New Zealand(a tourism NZ Ambassador - why dont we pay him for his share of ... million more visitors for the last  few years with the success of Trilogy.)
Weta Digital is building old New York using original blueprints and historical records . This is great job done. The movie stars Jack Black (as the obsessive movie director Carl Denham), Naomi Watts (lady Ann Darrow) and Adrien Brody (as Jack Driscoll, in Jackson's version a playwright in the Arthur Miller mode, who's been cajoled into writing Denham's screenplay). Andy Serkis, whose acting was the basis for the digital Gollum, will "play" Kong, whose prehistoric island is breached by Denham as he hunts for one of the planet's dwindling mysteries. Serkis hasn't begun working with Watts yet. Judging from the menacing grunts and body language he summoned up for a reporter with a moment's notice, he is going to scare the crap out of her.

Story in short - For making a film the ship is voyaging and enters skull island - Facing the crulety of Nomads, huge range of historic animals Ann is taken by King Kong the " kind to her only" monster.  She actually won his kindness by some intelligent puppet play.  He rescues her from "Jurasic Park" kind of monsters and beats up his chest in showing her his victory.  From a scenic clifftop, with victorious King Kong, Ann forgetting all the sufferings she is undergoing, enjoys the sunset and says "beautiful".   What happens when all other crew faces out of the world problems? Is Ann rescued? Does she want to be rescued? How King Kong is entering New york City?  Will Jack become famous in his city?  Find answers  while you enjoy the film in theatres.

The scenes we cherish:
1.King Kong in Theatre tied with steel chains and King Kong after known Ann was not there breaking the chains as well as the  huge Theatre
2. The sentimental touches of King Kong's affection to Ann on clifftop and the  KingKong fights with other monsters
3. The climax on Empire State Building, New York, where 5-6 helicopters surround King Kong and bomb him where he shows to Ann he beats his chest in show up after destroying the machinebirds with ease and his warmth to Ann  shown by placing her safely in the first instance.
4...........Many many more to number

Peter Jackson's 'Lord of the Rings' was one for the ages. Now his remaking 'King Kong,' is in fond memory of his age 13 dreams. The success lies in how one can remember his wishes so long and enact when the time is appropriate.  That is success for producers, not only for the film crew.

KINGDOM KONG King Kong
By Jeff Giles
Newsweek
Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens are indisputably different people, but it is tempting sometimes to think of them as three voices in one person's head. One voice is exuberant (Boyens), one hilariously bleak (Walsh) and one eternally steady and focused (Jackson). It's late Friday night at Jackson and Walsh's house on a bay outside Wellington, New Zealand. The couple's children are in bed, and there are no scenes to shoot tomorrow, so they're lingering over dinner with Boyens, who wrote the "Lord of the Rings" movies with them, as well as their latest epic venture, "King Kong." The wine has been poured more than once. The conversation has become giddy. "What was the question you asked about the possibility of failure?" Jackson says, attempting to steer the talk toward solid ground. Walsh laughs: "It's more than the possibility. It's the inevitability!" Now Jackson laughs. He tries again: "To live the rest of your life trying to top 'Lord of the Rings' would be a foolish and unsatisfying thing to do. So you set your sights on making a thoroughly entertaining movie so that people are not disappointed. It is highly unlikely 'King Kong' will ever make more money than 'Lord of the Rings'." Boyens can't stand all this levelheadedness another second. She leans forward. "Hello?" she says. "For the record, 'Kong' is going to kick 'Lord of the Rings' ' a--! It will!" Jackson and Walsh look at her fondly. Then, virtually in unison, they say, "That's the wine talking.".........................
